Berserk review on hold

Yeah so I'm still pretty confused about the 2016 Berserk series, and when I looked it up on Wikipedia it gave me this whole spiel
that I didn't get
at all
so
Berserk is on hold until whenever
maybe when I rewatch it and figure out what the heck is happening

Sword Art Online - Ordinal Scale

Sword Art Online The Movie -Ordinal Scale-On Thursday, March 9th, the new SAO movie will be premiering world wide! And what's even more surprising, is that it will be premiering right here in the Anime Society's very own backyard.
At the Regal 9 in downtown Santa Cruz, Ordinal Scale will be premiering from 8:00-10:15 PM. Another exciting feature of this is that the whole movie will be in subtitles, something uncommon for movie theaters.

I would like to invite all of my fellow club members to join me at the screening. I am making plans to be in attendance, so you're welcome to join me, and we can chat before and afterwards. If you're looking for me in the crowd, I'll probably be wearing an SAO shirt or regular clothes. Actually, just keep an ear out for a super loud girl who's screaming about anime and sobbing her eyes out.

While this is a school night, I highly recommend going, as this is only screening March 9th, making it a pretty exclusive thing. Even if you aren't the world's biggest SAO fan, you should take the time to go, as this is directly showing movie theaters around the world that we support anime screenings, as well as subtitles on the silver screen. High attendance rates will REALLY encourage cinemas to do things like this in the future with other series, which is something that we otaku would very much like to see. Make sure you get your homework done though, and have things set up for if you go straight to sleep when you get home. If you do end up maybe missing something though, don't sweat it mate. Just tell your teachers that the Anime Society told you to do it.

Also a fun little teaser, if you don't want to go because you're tired of Kirito saving the day, don't worry. It will be focused more on the main heroines of the series, for exaple Asuna, Lisbeth, Silica, Sinon, Leafa,  and perhaps a few others? Plus Kirito is going to be starting from the ground up, so he doesn't get to cheat and get super powerful without trying. Kirito, the poster child for Mary Sue, not actually being a Mary Sue?! Now that you have to see!

For even more motivation to come, if you're an Anime Society member and present me (Anime Society Founder) with your movie ticket as evidence you attended, you will have your name put into an AS club contest for a chance to win a special promotional poster for the Ordinal Scale movie. See the picture directly to the right? That's exactly what you would get, plus the logo and title. And hey, I might even give away a couple of mini prizes to other people who enter the raffle, because I want to be able to do my part in supporting people to take part in these every day anime-related blessings.

I don't know if they will be selling tickets at the event, so I suggest buying them online and reserving your seats as soon as you can. Make sure you tell all of your friends and family, convince as many people as you can to go. The link to buy event tickets is below, as well as the address for the Santa Cruz movie theater screening it. If you're one of our followers/readers outside of the area, just type in your zip code on the link provided, and it will show a list of theaters near you showing. I was actually surprised that Ordinal Scale was airing near me, I hadn't check until this morning as I had assumed it would only play in big cities. So if you want to go, check it out, you may be pleasantly surprised.

Demi-chan of the Week: Takanashi Hikari

With the creation of the Official Anime Society Demi-chan Protection Squad, of course we need to have some of our favorite Demi-Humans featured on the page! Today we'll be adding Takanashi Hikari, the little vampire from Interviews with Monster Girls. A few highlights on Hikari:

She loves the cold, therefore of course she loves to be all over her snow-woman friend Yuuki. She loves to hang all over her, as well as chew on her just a little with her fangs.

Holy Guacamole, look at Hikari's face as she's chewing on Yuuki's neck. If that isn't one of the best faces you've ever seen, then I don't know what to tell you man. It's so cute how she also clings to Yuuki, like she's higgin her but also just trying to be close. This was right after Yuuki had a major breakthrough with her nature as a Demi, and started to open up more to her peers. No wonder Hikari is being so close, she's finally able to build deep emotional bonds with a fellow Demi-chan.

Despite Hikari having a twin sister, they don't share the same vampire gene. They're polar opposites, Hikari being a mischievous, lazy fiend, while her sister Himari is a studious, responsible student. Himari takes care of Hikari and looks after her a lot, and does her best to be there for her sister, while also trying to teach her to be more responsible and independent. While Himari acts like she is always mad at Hikari, she really does care about her sisters well being. There's even a rumor she lightened her hair so Hikari's wouldn't stand out so much.... Hikari loves her twin a lot, and relies on her to save the day whenever Hikari is too busy of lazy to do something (for example, her hair).

Himari may not be a Demi-chan, but she's definitely waifu material. But back to our little vampire! Sometimes, due to her vampire nature, she gets the urge to chew on something, similar to a rabbit in a way. Like when she chewed on Yuuki's shoulder, when at home, she gets a little case of the noms. So her loving sister Himari lets her chew on her arm. If that isn't sisterly love, then really, what is? Hikari is practically a meme, and I relate to her on a spiritual level. Let's make nomming Hikari a thing please, #HikariNoms

She makes so many fun poses, has a great relationship with all her sensei's and peers, and she enjoys every moment. No matter what happens, she usually has a smile and a good attitude, plus she's always up to a little bit of harmless trouble. Also, if you notice, she really just has her own aura and presence. She stands out from the crowd, and has her own sense of style. For example, notice she never tucks her shirt in, while all the other students do. And she has that crazy hard to do but cool hairstyle.

Long story short, Hikari is a cute Demi-chan, and she deserves love, affection and protection from everything that could ever possibly harm her or take away that radiant smile.

Yurio Cosplay?

Image result for yuri plisetskyI was browsing around in Forever Twenty-one, and I happened to see this super flashy skirt. At first I thought it looked a little over the top and not my style, but then I started thinking.

Hmm, why does the pattern look so familiar?

Did it maybe remind me of someone?
And then it hit be harder than a brick.

Image result for yuri plisetskyThis sort of skirt definitely looks like something Yuri Plisetsky from Yuri on Ice might wear. That cute, angsty, cat obsessed little dork, would wear something just like this. Gah, just thinking of him wearing a skirt and those little cat ears inspires me.

Perhaps I should get the skirt and do a loose Yurio cosplay? I have tons of cat related clothing at home, since I'm a cat fanatic myself. I could pull together a little this, a little that. I'm actually kinda excited, it'll be nice to have a change of style, as well as cosplay one of the most attractive cat boys to ever grace anime.

☆*。Adagaki Aki ☆*。

A tsundere with a strong hatred towards men, Aki-chan is known as the Cruel Princess. While beautiful and cold, she's quite adorable when she's flustered. Aki-chan may pretend to be distant, but she's really an awkward cutie!

Kanna and Tohru - Dragon-chan Protection Squad

Tohru and Kanna from Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid rubbing noses. It's so cute how Kanna looks up to both Tohru and Kobayashi as parent figures for her, and she's so affectionate towards them. She follows them around, wants to be with them all the time, and really puts her trust in them. She's just a young girl -er, dragon, in this new and unfamiliar world, and being able to trust those two is a big thing for her. Lesson of the day, Kanna is super cute and we should form a Dragon-girl Protection Squad

A cute Water Goddess who was dragged into a new world with the protagonist Kazuma, she may be useless sometimes, but she's still one of the highest class waifus.
